Fairview Park, Ohio- In a contrast to last night offense was aplenty, at least in the case of the Bay Rockets as they thrashed Fairview 10-0 in five innings. Bay would jump out early and never look back.
Bay would jump on top early in the top of the first by scoring four runs with a combination of hits and walks. They would keep the momentum going in the bottom of the first as they sent Fairview down in order.
McNamara would have a solid second as he worked around a walk to keep the Rockets off the board. Bay would work around a Jack Burke leadoff walk to make sure they stayed in front going into the third.
McNamara would work around some damage as he got a couple of outs and loaded the bases but managed to get a popup to end the inning. The Warriors would once again go down in order.
Bay would score two more in the fourth before McNamara would once again work himself out of a bases-loaded jam. Ben Leslie would lead off the inning with Fairview’s only hit as he got a little hit down the third-base line that the third baseman overran but he would’ve beat out anyway. However, the next three would go down.
Kevin Plascak came on for relief in the fifth and Bay would jump on him scoring four more runs. Jay Foose would then come on with the bases loaded and no outs and would work out of it to keep Bay from striking further. Despite Alex Barnhart being hit by a pitch, Bay would strike out the side and clinch the run rule.
It was just an awful day for Fairview as they fell behind early and just looked defeated. They fell to 3-6 (1-5 GLC) with the loss. They will be back at it Thursday against Valley Forge. Bay moves to 6-4 (4-2 GLC) and will face Buckeye Thursday.
