Warriors News · Dave Murphy Selected for Girls Basketball Position

Pending Board of Education approval, Dave Murphy will take over the Girls Basketball program at Fairview High School.

Murphy comes to Fairview after most recently serving for three years as the Head Girls Basketball coach at Cleveland Central Catholic where he lead the 2019/2020 Lady Ironmen to a 17-7 record and a District Championship appearance. For his team’s performance, Murphy was named Division 2 Northeast Lakes District Coach of the Year for the 2019/2020 season.

Prior to his tenure at Cleveland Central Catholic, Murphy coached both Boys and Girls Basketball at various locations including Rocky River, St. Joseph’s, North Royalton, and NDCL High Schools. He has also served as an assistant coach at Westlake, St. Edward, and Wickliffe High Schools in his career. Murphy’s breadth of experience across many levels makes him an exciting choice to lead the Lady Warrior Basketball Program into their next chapter.

Adding to his vast coaching experience, Murphy brings a great deal of experience with high school students in the classroom, having spent 37 years working in Special Education as an Intervention Specialist, the majority of which were spent at North Royalton High School and in the Parma City School District.

We are excited to welcome Coach Murphy to the Warrior family and can’t wait to hit the ground running with the next phase of Girls Basketball at Fairview High School.

If you would like to get in touch with Coach Murphy, you can reach him via email at DMTrout22@gmail.com. A plan for players to get to meet Coach Murphy and get working toward the 2020/2021 season is in the works and will be announced when finalized.
