Multiple Teams · Casey Marcelo to Take Over Fairview Volleyball Program

Casey Marcelo will be the next Varsity Head Coach of Fairview Volleyball, replacing Ellie Caldwell who retired at the end of the 2018 campaign.

Marcelo brings a resume of 18 years of coaching experience at the high school level in addition to many years on the JO and USA Volleyball circuit. He comes to Fairview after a year of coaching Volleyball at Oberlin High School, where he led the Phoenix to a 17-5 record and was a District Runner-up in the OHSAA Division 3 Tournament. Prior to his year at Oberlin, Marcello spent 10 seasons as the Varsity Boys Volleyball coach at St. Ignatius and 6 season prior to that at Westlake High School. At Ignatius, Marcelo’s teams were State Quarter-Finalists every year from 2008-2015 and won a State Championship in 2017. Outside of the High School ranks, Marcelo has coached for over 15 years as both a JO Club Coach and a USA Volleyball High-Performance Coach and Advisor.

Marcelo puts a high value on the development of his athletes as whole individuals and as a team. He also puts an emphasis on the growth and development of youth programs and developing a connection between the youth, middle school, and high school levels – something that will be a great asset to the Fairview Volleyball community.

There will be a meeting on Monday, 1/21 at 6:30pm at the High School (specific location TBD) for all Volleyball players and parents to meet Coach Marcelo and discuss plans for open gyms, camps, and clinics in the Spring and Summer. All past and prospective players at both the Middle School and High School levels should plan to attend. Coach Marcelo can be reached for any questions at
